- Demolition and removal of existing foundations for demolished houses
- Cut down and removal of existing hedges/trees
- Disconnection and removal of street lighting/drainage manholes/features
- Disconnection/diversion of redundant services
Phase 2:
- Taking down and removal of redundant existing airfield boundary fence
- Re-grading airside land to compliant CAP 168 Levels
- Remaining base and trenching works for new approach lighting
- Installation of emergency access track and hard standing area
Second RESA (26 End) Extension 2007, City of Derry Airport
Value: £500,000
- Excavating over 5000m³ mudflats along airport coastline
- Construction consisted of extending existing RESA to a length of 90 metres by 90 metres wide by importing 28,000 ton of stone to fill up to new levels
- Forming a new armour wall sea protection structure to absorb the energy of waves, to support the RESA and allow an errant aircraft to run off the RESA onto the mudflats in a safe manner
- Construction of an access track and parking area for emergency vehicles
- Protection and maintenance of existing services in the RESA consisting of approach lights and Nav Aids Equipment
First RESA (26 End) Extension 2001, City of Derry Airport
Value: £150,000
- Excavating salt marsh turfs and storing on-site
- Laying geo-textile membrane
- Filling to new levels and top-soiling
- Worked closely with Northern Ireland Railways on a part of the line which runs through the airfield, lifting and relaying a new section of railway track during night-time hours
